How to livestream a surf competition with AGOS Studio

Set up cameras, scenes, scene sound, sponsor PNGs and streaming destinations in AGOS Studio, then rehearse before the contest goes live.

Prepare the broadcast separately from scoring

Scoring tickets include TV displays and OBS overlays. Broadcasting through AGOS Studio uses an optional event livestream pass. Confirm the organizer's access and the venue upload connection before preparing the show.

  1. Open Studio for the correct event and add the camera sources you will use.
  2. Test the destination account and stream key using the destination's setup instructions.
  3. Keep the Studio device powered and the page open while broadcasting.

Build scenes before going live

Start with a single camera, then add picture in picture or horizontal and vertical split layouts. Each view chooses from the camera sources already added to Studio.

  1. Name scenes by their job, such as Main camera, Beach interview or Results.
  2. Choose the main and secondary camera and adjust inset placement in the preview.
  3. Rehearse switching scenes so the operator can make quick choices during a heat.

Choose the sound for each scene

Scene sound comes from available audio sources, including camera audio and audio-only remote sources. A remote phone can contribute sound without sending a camera picture.

  1. Select the available sound sources the scene should use.
  2. Listen to the levels before the broadcast and check for echo.
  3. Keep spectator playback muted on devices contributing microphone audio.

Prepare sponsor images and the scorecard

Transparent PNG images can be moved and resized over the live composition. Prepare placements that keep the surfers and scorecard readable.

  1. Use approved sponsor artwork with a transparent background.
  2. Position and resize each image in the preview.
  3. Check the composition on a phone-sized spectator view as well as the production monitor.

Rehearse the complete viewing path

The final check is the spectator's experience, not just the Studio preview. Destination availability depends on the platform account, permissions and streaming setup.

  1. Use the destination's test or private option where available.
  2. Check picture, sound and scorecard from a separate viewing device.
  3. Confirm the network backup and operating procedure before publishing the real broadcast.
